Application Tracker: how it works

Application Tracker keeps all your medicine and dentistry applications in one place, and shows you when other Medify students are hearing back from the same universities.

Use it to compare your UCAT or GAMSAT score with other applicants who are shortlisting courses, then after application keep track of interviews, offers and rejections as they come out through the season.

Medify does not submit applications. You still apply through UCAS as normal. Application Tracker is a place to record and see updates (from other Medify users) on the courses you've applied to.

Getting started

  1. Shortlist the courses you're considering. Find them in the University Directory and select "Add to shortlist". They'll appear in the Shortlisted courses section of your tracker.

  2. Add your UCAT or GAMSAT score. This lets you see how you compare with other Medify students considering the same course. You can add it straight from the tracker - select "Add your UCAT scores" on any course card.

  3. Mark your final choices as applied. Once you've submitted through UCAS, select "I've applied" on each course. They'll move into the Applied courses section.

  4. Update your status daily during the application season. Let us know if you're still waiting or have heard back. Each update you give (per course) reveals what other Medify users have heard on interviews and offers.

You can also update a course's status from its page in the University Directory - it's the same status in both places.

Updates and Cohort views

Each applied course card has two views. Switch between them with the toggle at the top of the card.

Updates shows, day by day, how many Medify students reported an interview (orange), an offer (green) or an unsuccessful outcome (grey) for that course. Use the arrows to move between weeks, and hover over or tap a day to see that day's numbers alongside the season total so far.

Cohort shows the UCAT or GAMSAT scores of Medify students who have applied to that course, grouped into score ranges. Your own range is highlighted in blue, so you can see where you sit.

Shortlisted courses show the Cohort view only, based on students who currently have that course shortlisted. It updates every time you visit, without needing a status update.

Daily updates

The latest data on each course you’ve applied to is hidden until you tell us where you are with that application that day. This keeps the information fresh: every student who checks in adds to what everyone else can see.

To reveal it, use either button on the card:

  • The grey Still waiting button if you haven't heard anything yet. This counts! Not hearing back is useful information too.

  • The blue status button (for example "Got an interview!") if something has changed.

Once you've updated a course, its data stays visible for the rest of the day. It hides again at midnight UK time, ready for your next check-in. Each course is updated separately.

FAQs

Who can use Application Tracker?

Anyone who has current paid access (i.e. current subscribers and access pass holders), or anyone who has had paid access in the last 12 months. If you don't have access, you'll see an option to view payment plans.

Other students are hearing back and I'm not. Should I worry?

No. Universities send interviews and offers in waves over several months. No news on a given day doesn't tell you anything about your application.

How accurate is the data?

It's crowdsourced from Medify students who choose to update their status, so it isn't a complete record of everything a university has sent. Treat it as a guide to when activity is happening, not an official source.

Why is the Updates graph empty?

No one has reported an interview, offer or unsuccessful outcome for that course yet. This is to be expected early in the season (late Oct/beginning of November). In the meantime, the Cohort view shows how your score compares.

Why don't I see something I know has happened?

To protect students' privacy and keep the data reliable, a type of update only appears once enough students have reported it for that course. Your own updates are always shown to you.

Why do the Cohort scores look high?

Medify students tend to prepare more than average, so the scores skew higher than the full applicant pool. They're not a representative sample.

Why can't I see the Cohort view?

You'll need to add your UCAT or GAMSAT score first. If a course doesn't require either exam, there's no Cohort view for it. If very few students have applied to a course, the graph stays hidden until there's enough data.

Can other students see my details?

No. Graphs only ever show totals, never individual students, and small numbers are hidden.

I chose the wrong status. Can I change it?

Yes. Use the ··· menu on the card to move a course back a stage, or to remove it from your applications.

How do interview dates work?

When you record an interview, you can add the date if you know it. It's shared with your Interviews course and Activity Calendar, so you can see your upcoming interviews and start practising. You can add or edit dates from either place.

My university isn't listed. Can I still add an interview?

Yes. When adding an interview from your Interviews course, choose "Other" and type the university's name. It will appear in your interview dates and Activity Calendar, but not in Application Tracker, as we don't yet have data for that university.

Does it work for Australia or New Zealand?

Not yet. Application Tracker currently covers UK medicine and dentistry courses. International students applying to UK universities can use it in the same way.
